Matt was playing with Liam on the floor until he fell asleep.

Sweet & Sassy

Ella went to a friend’s birthday party this afternoon at Sweet & Sassy http://www.sweetandsassy.com/. She had so much fun. They got the girls ready with beautiful gowns, up-dos, shimmery make-up and nail polish. Then each girl was announced and received her very own tiara and a sprinkling of fairy dust. They also got to go for a ride in a pink limo. Ella was so excited. It was just the day before that she asked when she might be able to go in a limo. She was told maybe when she went to prom in High School. So she was surprised to see the pink limo at the party. She was happy to say that we were wrong. She didn't have to wait until High School after all. The picture gives you an idea of how her hair looked. I forgot to bring my camera to the party.

Leah's Blessing Day

My brother, Eric, blessed his baby girl today. I am so glad we were able to be there. Leah is wearing the same dress that Danna wore on her blessing day. We then had Danna and Eric’s families and some friends come to our house for lunch. It was a full house, but I think it worked out just fine.

Perot Systems

My brother, Eric, recently got hired on at Perot Systems located in Plano, TX. We are so excited for him. Eric invited us to go on a tour this afternoon. Ross Perot Sr., founder of Perot Systems, has put on display, which seemed like, everything he has received and collected over the years. The stuff ranged from the 1st computer, Texas and American history stuff, to awards and personal gifts he has received.

Last day of school!!!!

I am so excited that this school year is finally over. I think Ella did very well this year despite the constant misbehaving boys and 2 teacher changes in her class. It makes me wonder though how much better she could have done if she actually had consistency in the classroom. I am hoping next year will be better. Ella is so excited to be a 1st grader.

I went up to Ella’s school today to help pass out ice cream sandwiches and popsicles after lunch to all of kindergarten and then I helped out in her classroom until the Juggler show started. My sister babysat Liam and Nia so I could be a part of Ella’s last day. I am so grateful for Jenna.

(Sorry no pictures.)

Ella's Music Program

Tonight at Ella’s school, a few kindergarten classes sang together with a couple of 4th grade classes. She did very well. She has been practicing at home for a while now so I knew she knew the songs. It was fun to watch her. Every song had hand motions. I couldn’t record all the songs because of my small memory card on my digital camera so I had her pick her favorite song.

Play the video below to listen to the song “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”.

Ella's Field Trip

The Kindergartens went on a field trip today to ASI Gymnastics in Garland. Ella was so excited to ride on a school bus for the first time. The school wouldn't let me on the bus so I met her there. They divided all the kids into 8 groups and had them rotate to different stations. They had me stationed at the low beams. I was hoping I could walk around with Ella but they needed the help elsewhere. She said she had a lot of fun and her favorite stations were the trampolines and the rope swing that she got to fall into a pit of foam blocks. Afterwards they went back to their classrooms to eat lunch. I was hoping to stay, but Liam decided that he wouldn't take a bottle today so I needed to get back home. (Thanks to my mom for watching Liam and Nia so I could go on the field trip.)

We saw "Star Trek"

My mom and sister, Jenna, watched the kids for us this morning so Matt and I could see “Star Trek”. I am so glad we took the time to see it on the big screen. It was awesome! I can’t wait until they make a new one. The girls enjoyed the day in my parent’s pool.

Tumbling

The girls had their last gymnastics class tonight of a 6 weeks session. Grandma Debby & Aunt Jenna joined us to watch the girls. Nia was the most improved. Before this class she couldn’t even do a proper somersault. She never liked to roll over before now because she had a dizzy spell each time. It was crazy how bad it was. But now she loves to roll and can do it repeatedly without getting dizzy (or at least not as bad as it was). Ella did well in the class too and can do more than she thought she could. The girls enjoyed being in the same class together. Ella was a good example to Nia. At home they like to show off everything they learned. We are going to take a break from classes this summer though and focus on swimming.
