6 months old

Liam is 6 months old now. He manages to get where he wants to go by rolling. He likes to play with toys more and more now. The girls are amazed that he can pick up his binky and put it in his mouth.

Cereal has gone really well so we decided to start veggies today. I gave him squash but after a few bites he decided he didn’t like it.

Watch the video posted below.

1st High Chair Experience

I took the kids to see Madagascar 2 at the AMC in Firewheel today. Afterwards we went to McDonalds for lunch. This is the first time I have put Liam in a high chair. He did pretty well. He still is a little tipsy when he tries to sit up. His main problem is that his arms are always moving.

Peter Piper Pizza

It was raining this morning so we went to Peter Piper Pizza with Carrie McMurdie and her 3 kids. The girls had a lot of fun. Nia likes to play on the moving rides and Ella likes to play the games to earn tickets. Nia used her tickets to buy candy and Ella chose to buy a whoopee cushion.

A while back she saw one on TV so she knew what it was. She thought it was so funny and couldn’t wait to show her daddy when he came home from work.

Liam's Moving!

I put Liam on the floor by my desk while I was checking my email. When I turned around I found him under the bed playing with the bed skirt. I am still not use to his mobility.

Happy Father's Day

We got up early and I fixed Matt his choice of breakfast (bacon and a good raspberry & oat cereal). We then rushed off to 9 am church. The Dad’s all got a snickers bar. We then went home and my parents and my sister Jenna came over. We fixed a good dinner for the Dad’s (steak, twice backed sweet potatoes, asparagus, and French bread). Of course Matt had to cook the steaks. I have not mastered the grill yet.

The girls each made a father’s day card and gave him a package of black licorice. I got Matt an Oxo Good Grips V-Blade Mandoline Slicer. If you know Matt at all you know that this made him very happy.

We had a great day spending time with each other. I am so grateful for a wonderful husband and an awesome father to my kids.

(Matt had a nosebleed so that is why there is a tissue in his nostril.)

Swim Lessons Ended

Swim lessons ended today. The girls took 8 lessons over the past 2 weeks at the Rockwall YMCA. Nia can swim now!!!!! No floats!!!! We tried the first week of June to get her to do it, but she fought me every time. Swim lessons gave her the confidence she needed. Plus we spent a lot of mornings swimming with friends and evenings swimming at Grandma’s. Ella has been a fish since she turned 3, but we wanted her to develop better stroke skills. Her teacher said she is really fast and has great potential to be on a swim team some day.

Together Time

Nia, Ella and Liam were watching a movie together in my bed this afternoon. The girls love it when Liam will lay with them.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

The girls were busy coloring, which is one of their favorite things to do together.

Matt was playing with Liam on the floor until he fell asleep.

Sweet & Sassy

Ella went to a friend’s birthday party this afternoon at Sweet & Sassy http://www.sweetandsassy.com/. She had so much fun. They got the girls ready with beautiful gowns, up-dos, shimmery make-up and nail polish. Then each girl was announced and received her very own tiara and a sprinkling of fairy dust. They also got to go for a ride in a pink limo. Ella was so excited. It was just the day before that she asked when she might be able to go in a limo. She was told maybe when she went to prom in High School. So she was surprised to see the pink limo at the party. She was happy to say that we were wrong. She didn't have to wait until High School after all. The picture gives you an idea of how her hair looked. I forgot to bring my camera to the party.
