Liam found one of my volleyball knee pads today and put it on his hand. I am not sure what his fascination was with it but I couldn't believe he kept it on all day. He is one silly boy.

We love Liam's quirks.

Snowman & Angels
We have real snow!

Yesterday morning we woke up to about 2 inches of snow. Actual snow! The girls were so excited. Ella still had to go to school because the roads were warm enough that the snow just melted when it landed. She was excited that the snow was still there when we got home. It snowed all day. I can't remember a day in Texas when it snowed all day long. So when we woke this morning there was about 6.5 inches of snow on the ground. School was closed today because it was below freezing and the roads were covered with snow. Matt still had to go to work. Originally AAFES said they would have a delayed opening at 10 am. So Matt left at about 9 am and of course a little while later they sent a notice out that they would not open until noon. But at that time he wasn't going to turn around and come home just to leave later. He got to work safe. He said they have about 14 inches of snow at AAFES. The kids have had fun playing in the snow. It is really good packing snow too. We are not equipped with good snow gear so I covered their hands and feet with plastic bags. It kept them fairly dry. The only bad thing about the snow is that Ella's school Valentine's party was suppose to be today. Hopefully they will make it up to the kids somehow.

Mom & Nia Day

Today was the Mom & Me event at Nia's Preschool. Nia and I had so much fun playing with each other for about an hour. They had several stations set up with different winter activities. Just a few are shown: make snow (snowflake stamps on wall), clean up the snow, snowball fight (using newspaper), ice skating (wax paper under your feet), and photo shoot in front of an igloo (made out of chicken wire and milk jugs). Afterwards they had a Valentine's Party in their classrooms. Nia had fun decorating and eating her cookies.

100 days of 1st Grade

Ella celebrated 100 days of 1st grade today. So she wanted to make a shirt to wear today that had 100 things on it. She came up with the idea to put 100 stamps on it and then I suggested to put her initials on it. Ella also picked out the colors. We had fun stamping. Of course Nia had to make one too even though she did not celebrate 100 days of school. Only going twice a week to preschool, I don't think she even goes 100 times in a year. But nonetheless she loves her shirt.

Liam's Well Check
We took this picture of Liam on Saturday. Every year on my girls birthdays I have taken a picture of them in one of my dresses. The same one each year. So we decided to use one of Matt's shirts on Liam. I love to see how big they have gotten each year. Liam had his well-check visit with his pediatrician today. He is long (31") and skinny (20 lbs 4 oz). That seems to be how I grow them around here.
We started him on whole milk and he is taking it ok as long as I give him the right sippy cup. But he still doesn't seem to love it as much as the girls did. He is completely off the bottle and I stopped nursing him today. For the last month I have slowly weaned him off. I have only been nursing him in the mornings for the last week or so.
He is walking full time and he gets faster every day. His sign language is improving every day too. He is up to about 6 signs that he is using (more, eat, up, hi/bye, no, finished). We are still working on the sign for drink and milk. It is awesome.

New Years Day

Happy New Years everyone. We had a great day today. My parents and sister met us at Amazing Jakes for miniature golf and lunch. It was a lot of fun. They have a movie room with black lights that was fun to sit and eat lunch in. We got to watch Cars!
That evening Matt and I went on a date with some friends. We had a nice dinner and went bowling. Which is not the same as Wii bowling. I was horrible. Matt was still pretty good.

New Years Eve
Liam is One!
Liam is one today! In the morning I took him to JC Penney for his 1st photo shoot (see pictures in the post below). I forgot how exhausting that can be. He did not want to sit or stand still. But at least he was happy! We didn't do much the rest of the day except for getting ready for his party. We had my family come over for an early dinner. Matt and I made cornbread and Black-eyed Pea Soup. It was delicious.

After dinner Liam had fun opening his gifts. He loves to play with the wrapping paper. He also enjoyed his first taste of sweets. His cake from Target was very good. After cake he got a bath and was in bed by 7:30.
